Our Operations

Evaluating your project can take up to 30 days before it is approved by La Maison de la Sérénité. A team member will communicate with you to inform you of the final decision taken by La Maison's team.

    Sponsors for the fundraising activity

    A sponsor can be an individual, business, association, etc., who offers money, a product, or services in exchange for visibility or promotion during the fundraising event. Amounts received from sponsors are not eligible for tax receipts.

    License and insurance

    Some activities require a permit, such as bingo, raffles, or liquor licenses. You are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits for your activity. The Maison cannot apply for one for you or provide a letter of authorization for a permit application. If you wish to sell alcoholic beverages at your event, we strongly recommend holding it in a location that already has a permit.

    Tax receipts

    La Maison de la Sérénité strictly follows the standards and policies of the Canada Revenue Agency's Tax Act. It is therefore imperative not to promise receipts to donors, sponsors, and partners without consulting a member of La Maison's team, who can advise you on the eligibility of a donation. La Maison automatically issues a tax receipt for all donations of $25 or more. Please note that to issue receipts, donations must be made in the name of La Maison de la Sérénité. Once your event is over, send us the donors' complete contact information (including name, address, phone number, email, and donation amount) so that we can issue receipts. To issue receipts to donors in a timely manner and to demonstrate our transparency, we request that your fundraising proceeds be remitted to La Maison de la Sérénité within 30 days of the event.

    Communication and visibility

    To help you create better visibility before and during your event, various identification products are available. Please check the items that interest you.

    Representation of the house

    La Maison de la Sérénité wishes to be present at fundraising activities organized by members of the community. However, it is not always possible to ensure availability, given the number of events per year or the date of the activity. Should you want someone to be present, we will do our best but ask that you include it in the request.

    Agreement

    1. La Maison de la Sérénité does not advance any funds for the organization of a fundraising activity and the committee cannot make any expenditures on behalf of La Maison.
    2. Also, we are not responsible for the commitments and partnerships made by the organizers of the activity.
    3. All advertising or promotional material for the activity, including any use of La Maison’s logo, must be approved by La Maison.
    4. The organizers of the fundraising activity release La Maison from any liability associated with the fundraising activity.
    5. The organizer will be responsible for ticket sales, finding prizes and awarding them for the activity.
    6. La Maison de la Sérénité must approve any solicitation of spokespersons for the activity.
